Iglesia de San Lorenzo

The Church of Saint Lawrence in Ubeda was a surprise visit for all of us. A fascinating rehabilitation project, its origins date to the 13th century, shortly after the Christian conquest of the city, built adjacent to the old city wall.

Terrace Tapas Treats

The surprise that awaited us was that the terrace of this historic church was to be the venue for a dinner of multiple tapas, excellent wines and exceptional views of the city. Another incomparable Rick Steves tour experience.

Churros & Chocolate

Another cultural experience. We were expecting to receive a hot chocolate drink not chocolate sauce! That said, both the churros and the dipping chocolate were yummy, with enough to share with fellow travelers.

Olive: Trees & Oil

Visited an award winning olive oil estate near Ubeda. Spain produces 40% of the world's olive oil.  Enjoyed the opportunity to taste-test multiple varieties of the liquid gold. Follow us to Granada and click here.
